COUNSELLING IN TOTNES AND ONLINE

About me

I believe that we don't always need to be given answers or told how to change. Sometimes what we need first is somewhere we can speak honestly, begin to understand our experience differently, and be met without judgement.

I am a counsellor in Totnes and hold an Advanced Diploma in Counselling. I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I work within their ethical framework and undertake regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development.

My background

Alongside my work as a counsellor, I have an established practice as an artist and have worked for many years in higher education, particularly within the creative arts. My work includes photography, writing and fine art, and creativity and curiosity continue to be an important part of both my professional and personal life.

I also have experience counselling within a community counselling service, including working with people who care for family members and loved ones. This has given me a particular understanding of the emotional demands of caring for others and how easily your own needs can become difficult to hear.

My creative background also shapes the openness and curiosity I bring to counselling. While I am not an art therapist, I welcome creativity as part of the therapeutic process when it feels meaningful or helpful to the person I am working with.
